he comes by to the hospital after learning where she is, probably later than everyone else. what do young ladies like? he's seen her in interesting clothes he doesn't understand. he's seen her climb on things and be bratty in the barn and be terrified of him in front of the pyre. there's no one like her here that he can help him find a small gift for her.

so. he's seen her eat fish before, probably through the screen in the living. and he used to cook his own fish back when he was human, so he knows how to skin them, how long to smoke it over a fire with a coat of olive oil. he arrives at izutsumi's hospital room with two small, fresh, cooked fish speared on wooden sticks and on a cleaned plate. he knocks lightly before carefully coming in. ]
